The sugar bug comes in the dark,
sipping on dreams –
betraying the sun
that made sweetness of day.
Early to bed, earthen to rise –
the night flowers
moonbend to jazz
crumbling from stars:
The Naked Lily,
The Zagging Heart Jasmine,
The Rooster Red Rose.
For dVerse Quadrille
I love the play on the old saying and those jazzy night flowers, especially the Rooster Red Rose!

Nice expression, “earthen to rise”…there are so many lovely night flowers with intoxicating scents, an earthen party.

This is like music… I don’t really want to sleep but just hum along with the bee tapping the beat.
