Need your help with the second. Tuberculosis would demand bright red Christmas lights, not dark. Should I change?

I like the enigmatic dark red and that is perhaps why I struggled to get a handle on it. Dark red is the color that preserves our night vision – that’s where I went with it. Denial; we chose not to see the ‘light’ in all its implications.

Yes. That is why I went with dark. But the contrast with bright was fun too, but probably overly picky re the color required for coughing up blood.

Thanks. I agree, and it is also the darkest and most anti-haiku. BTW, would you vote for bright red lights over the dark red, e.g. a more technically accurate tuberculosis?

I think that could work. Have you dropped that in with the other lines? I’d trying playing with the word order to make it more unusual.
